Denoising Impact Evaluation

Paired noisy and denoised medical speech, from our study showing that denoising hurts ASR.

500 English clips from the Eka medical ASR set, with background, short and Gaussian noise added at controlled levels, each paired with a speech-enhanced version. In all 30 configurations tested, enhanced audio gave worse semantic WER than the noisy original.
